Books that will help you learn about Product Management and prepare for interviews
The Product Diploma
A complete guide to breaking into product management out of college. It covers:
What the PM job is, and whether it would be a good fit for you
The skills you need to develop to excel as a PM, and how to develop them in College
How to apply to and land PM job offers, including interview tips & tricks, plus sample interview questions and answers
Cracking the PM Interview
Good context on what its like to work as a PM, how product management differs at amongst the big tech companies, and what PM interviews are like. The book primarily focuses on lots of sample PM questions.
Decode and Conquer
My personal favorite PM interview book. It has an extensive collection of very high quality practice questions of all types, and most importantly gives excellent sample answers to each question. I highly recommend it.
Swipe to Unlock
A primer for thinking about business models and strategies in the technology industry. Really useful for understanding the non-tech side of being a product manager. I would particularly recommend this book if you don’t have a strong background reading about the tech industry.
Cracking the Coding Interview
This book doesn't apply to everyone, as only some companies ask PMs to go through technical interviews. But, if you're interviewing at a company that does (like Google), practicing up on your data structures and algorithms knowledge will be helpful.
